This chart shows total U.S. vehicle miles traveled (VMT) for each month of the year, averaged from 2010 to 2026. Generally, U.S. drivers tend to log the fewest vehicle miles at the beginning of each year in January and February, and the most miles in the summer months with the peak in July.

Average values are provided at time of update and may not include entirety of current year.
