Semi Service Outfits Replica Batmobile to Run on Natural Gas (Text Version)
This is a text version of the video segment Semi Service Outfits Replica Batmobile to Run on Natural Gas, which aired on April 16, 2011.
JOHN DAVIS: Our success story this week takes us to Salt Lake City, Utah, where—holy CNG, Batman—this replica 1989 Batmobile has had all-bat systems, including the guns and afterburner upgraded to be powered by compressed natural gas.
Semi Service outfitted the CNG mobile, and it travels around the state as a Clean Cities tool to teach adults and children about the advantages of running on CNG and alternative fuels.
MARTIN SEELOS: And it gets people's attention and draws them over so we can tell them about natural gas. Basically, it's the way they operate. Their function is just as good as regular gas.
JOHN DAVIS: Semi replaced the original motor with a 5.7-liter Corvette V8. There's certainly no arguing over parking spaces with these. Semi Service also converts other types of vehicles to CNG. With more natural gas reserves than Gotham City, Salt Lake City is leading the way to a cleaner and greener Utah.
