Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Electricity Exemption

Electricity used to charge EVs at a state-owned parking facility is not considered a gift of public funds under California law. This exemption allows state agencies to provide EV charging at state-owned parking facilities without violating constitutional or statutory prohibitions on gifting public money or items of value.
