U.S. EPA Upholds MY 2022-2025 Light-Duty Vehicle Standards

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued a final determination that the model year (MY) 2022-2025 greenhouse gas (GHG) standards remain appropriate under the Clean Air Act, and that the standards will exist unaltered. As part of the rulemaking establishing the MY 2017-2025 light-duty vehicle GHG standards, EPA made a regulatory commitment to conduct a Midterm Evaluation (MTE) of longer-term standards for MY 2022-2025. Through the MTE, EPA has decided that the standards for MY 2022-2025, established in 2012, are still appropriate given the latest available data and information.

The U.S. Department of Energy is evaluating all records in accordance with current laws, regulations, and administrative directives. Thank you for understanding this process is still underway. Information provided here may be outdated.
