Electric Vehicle (EV) Mileage-Based User Fee

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans), in coordination with the Department of Motor Vehicles, studied and developed an implementation plan for potential mileage-based user fees applicable to EVs and other highly fuel-efficient vehicles. The plan evaluates policy options, administrative feasibility, equity considerations, privacy protections, and revenue impacts.
