Federal Transportation Facility Improvement Program

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) provides funding for the improvement of transportation facilities on or adjacent to Federal lands through the Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP). Eligible electric mobility projects include light-duty electric vehicle (EV) charging, public transportation charging, commercial charging infrastructure planning, workforce development, and vehicle acquisition. Eligible applicants include state departments of transportation, local governments, and tribal governments. Projects must meet the FHWA EV Charging Minimum Standards Rule.
