Vehicle Retrofit Requirements

State agencies and state and regional public authorities must install the best available retrofit technology verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to reduce air pollutant emissions on all heavy-duty diesel vehicles that they own, operate, or lease on or before December 31, 2019. Heavy-duty diesel vehicles that are retired from use in the state on or before December 31, 2020, may be granted a waiver from this requirement.
