Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Certification

Effective January 1, 2026, EV chargers on public works must be installed and maintained by persons that hold either an Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP) certification or equivalent training program certification, as long as the program is open to all general journeyman level electricians. Apprentices do not need to be certified but must be supervised by a certified electrician. Additional requirements apply.
