Electric Vehicle (EV) Parking Space Regulation

Individuals may not stop, stand, or park a vehicle in a designated EV charging space unless it is an EV that is actively charging. Violators shall be subject to a fine of $55 for the first offense, $100 for the second offense, and $200 for the third and each subsequent event.

EV charging spaces must have signage visible during the day and night that indicates the charging space is only for active EV charging and states the penalty. Towing of vehicles found to be in violation shall be at the discretion of the municipality, and if a vehicle is towed then the registered owner or lessee of the vehicle shall be responsible for all towing and storage costs.
