Vehicle Idling Restrictions

Florida law prohibits leaving a vehicle unattended while the engine is running, except in specified circumstances. Certain exemptions apply, including when a vehicle’s engine is used to operate equipment or for safety or traffic conditions. Local governments may enforce these provisions as authorized by state law.
