Legislative Session Information
The Iowa Legislature meets annually from mid-January to mid-April. During the session, the governor must sign or veto legislation within three days after transmittal (except Sundays) or it becomes law without signature. After adjournment (except Sundays), the governor must sign or veto legislation within 30 days for legislation transmitted during the last three days of the session or the legislation becomes law without signature.
