Flexible Fuel Vehicle Availability
Flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) can run on gasoline or any blend of ethanol and gasoline up to 83%. E85 (or flex fuel) is a gasoline-ethanol blend containing 51% to 83% ethanol.
Use the Alternative Fuel and Advanced Vehicle Search to browse the available models. Recent changes to Corporate Average Fuel Economy credits for FFVs have resulted in reduced FFV availability.
Flex Fuel Vehicle Conversions
FFV conversions are unusual. Only a few conversion kits from conventional gasoline-only systems to FFV systems are certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Visit the EPA’s website for lists of certified alternative fuel conversion systems.
